Born in Southern California and living in Alaska since 2000, she draws inspiration from the state’s dramatic mountains, glacial valleys, and vast skies. Her refined use of color and bold value contrasts invite viewers to step into scenes that evoke both awe and serenity.

An artist and educator for over 30 years, Sonia’s paintings reflect her deep engagement with place and her ongoing pursuit of observing and capturing moments of beauty. Her work has been exhibited at the Anchorage Museum, represented by Stephan Fine Arts, and collected privately throughout Alaska and beyond.
